Make the first conversation your own.

You do not need a perfect explanation of everything. One priority and a few questions are enough to begin.

What would make this conversation useful to you?

Choose the situation closest to yours

  • I have a question or priority

Do this next: Write it as one short sentence. Add what you would like to understand by the end of the conversation.

    Go to question 2
  • I do not know where to begin

Do this next: Start with one thing that is difficult to organise or one part of support you want explained. You do not need a complete plan for the conversation.

  • I know how I want to meet

Do this next: State whether you prefer an online or in-person conversation, how you communicate and whether you want a trusted person present.

  • I need to discuss access or communication

Do this next: Ask about an accessible location, interpreter, breaks, written information or other adjustments before confirming the meeting.

Do this next: Confirm the next action, who will do it and when to check back. Take more time or compare options if that would help you decide.

Choose a starting point

Think of something you would like to be easier in everyday life. Say what is working, what feels difficult and what you want to understand next. It is fine to bring questions rather than a finished plan of action.

Use the enquiry form to discuss a preferred format and check Sydney time when agreeing an appointment. Online, in-person and weekend arrangements are discussed and confirmed after an enquiry.

Decide who you want with you

You can ask for a trusted person to join. Tell us about a communication preference, language need or access arrangement before the appointment so you can discuss what is possible and any cost.

Choose how much you feel comfortable sharing. The first enquiry does not require you to email diagnoses, reports, a plan or an NDIS number. Documents can be discussed later through a method agreed with us.

Ask about practical fit

Ask about current availability, your suburb, online or in-person options and the kind of coordination available. Check who would be responsible for the service and how any provider or subcontractor arrangement would work.

Confirm fees before the appointment or ongoing work. The enquiry form does not take payment. An introduction does not automatically commit you to a service agreement.

Leave with one clear next step

Before finishing, check what you have agreed: the next action, who will do it and when you will make contact again. It is also a valid next step to take time, compare options or ask another question.

You can use the conversation workbook to keep your own notes. It stays with you. The website does not receive what you write on paper or add to a copy on your device.

How the appointment is arranged

Use the enquiry form to request an introduction. We will discuss availability, your preferred format, access needs and any applicable fees before the time is confirmed.

Online or in-person arrangements depend on the proposed work, location and current capacity. An enquiry does not commit you to an ongoing service.
